The Grays have donated semen to be auctioned off, with the proceeds
going to R-CALF USA to support its work on trade issues that affect
independent U.S. cattle producers. Stewards of the Range also will donate
some artwork and books to be auctioned off for R-CALF USA.
Everyone who donates at least $50 will receive a one-year membership
to R-CALF USA.
Chris Abbott, with the newly created Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska
(ICON) organization, also will also be present.
It's important that cattlemen and community business people come
to this meeting in Harrison to meet Leo and hear him speak, Abbott
said. The issues our industry is facing today need to be addressed
head-on, and R-CALF USA is doing just that. R-CALF represents only independent
cattlemen and not only will work to promote and protect our way of life
in rural America, but also will work to ensure we keep our financial
strength. It is valuable to the economy of Nebraska that we have a state
cattlemen's organization. ICON has affiliated with R-CALF to assist
them with these issues on a state level.
